HarperCollins is thrilled to welcome debut author Justine Windsor to its stellar fiction list with a unique three-book series entitled Goodly and Grave. Aimed at a middle grade audience, the first novel Goodly and Grave in a Bad Case of Kidnap will publish in paperback original in March 2017, with the second and third titles following in July 2017 and June 2018 respectively.

Goodly and Grave is a page-turning new series which will tell the story of Lucy Goodly who is the new Boot Girl at eccentric Grave Hall, working for the rich and sinister-seeming Lord Grave. When children throughout the country start to go missing, Lucy begins to suspect that Lord Grave might know something more about the disappearances…..Luckily, Lucy has a trick or two up her sleeve to help her solve the mysteries.

“With vivid characters and a magical, page-turning plot this is storytelling at its very best.” commented Harriet Wilson, Editorial Director at HarperCollins Children’s Books. “The reader is gripped from the opening scene and transported to the eerie and eccentric world of Grave Hall where something is most certainly amiss.”

With a proven track record of breaking some of the biggest literary stars in children’s publishing, HarperCollins Children’s Books intend to make Justine Windsor’s debut series the must-have read for all mystery fans. Justine Windsor commented:

“Writing these mysteries is such fun, as is working with the brilliant team at HarperCollins. I hope readers are going to love Lucy and her friends at Grave Hall. My personal favourite is Mrs Crawley the cook who I reckon could give Mary Berry a run for her money!”
