Tim Pat Coogan

Tim Pat Coogan, Ireland’s most prominent journalist, is also well known as a historian, broadcaster and writer. He has appeared in most English-speaking countries and throughout Europe, and has written for a number of Irish, European and American publications, including the Sunday Times and the New York Times. He was appointed editor of the Irish Press in 1968. His first book, Ireland Since the Rising (1966), was the first history of that period. The original edition of The IRA followed in 1970 and The Irish: A Personal View in 1975.

Tim Pat Coogan and his wife have six children and five grandchildren.
