Ilaria Bernardini

Ilaria Bernardini is a writer and screenwriter. She is the author of nine novels, a graphic novel and two collections of short stories. Her novels Faremo Foresta and The Portrait were longlisted for Italy’s prestigious Strega Prize. She has created TV shows, including Ginnaste and Ballerini (MTV) and has written for Rolling Stone, Vogue, Vanity Fair and GQ. The Girls are Good is based on her novel Corpo Libero which subsequently morphed into a cult reality show. The story is inspired by Bernardini’s exclusive exposure to the world of gymnastics over the past decade. The book has been adapted into a six-part TV series by Indigo Film and was co-developed with the support of All 3Media International and the Creative Europe Media programme of the European Union.
