Clara and George’s world has been turned upside down. Having a baby was supposed to bring them closer but they’ve just got the news that every parent dreads. Their baby is seriously ill and needs life-saving treatment.
Struggling to cope, George throws himself into his work as a police detective, determined to gather enough evidence to put local drug baron Mantel away for good. But when Mantel’s businesses become the target of robberies, the case becomes more complicated. Especially when Mantel turns to Clara for help – he wants to find the person responsible before her husband does.
Clara is desperate to raise money for experimental treatment to save her child, but is this a price too high to pay?
