Erin Hunter is actually two people! She is experienced children’s book writers Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry, who both live in the UK,work on the stories together, and take it in turns to write the books. They came up with the single name, Erin Hunter, to avoid confusing their readers by having books from the same series in different places on the bookshelf.
Cherith grew up on a farm with working cats who kept down the mice in the house and barns, but there were still friendly house cats who would play and curl up on a lap. She has travelled round the world with her late husband Peter, who was a scientist, and had two sons called Will and Adam.
Kate has had cats since she was a child. She has three cats now. Writing Warrior Cats gives her the chance to imagine the world of cats when they go out at night. The ThunderClan cats have taught her that there is nothing for them to fear, only adventures to be enjoyed.
Victoria grew up on a farm and loves all animals, especially cats, dogs and horses. She loves being part of the Warrior Cats team and often dreams of being a cat running through a forest when coming up with new storylines.
